Kindergarten Transition Program

Each year the school runs a Transition Program for parents and students coming to kindergarten the following year.

During Term 3 Guided Tours are conducted for parents and new kindergarten students. Please contact the school for dates of these tours.

In Term 4 new students and parents are invited to attend TRansition. Usually there are three sessions during October and November. These occur in the morning. During this time the new students meet their buddies (Year 5 students) and spend time in our kindergarten rooms. Parents attend information sessions, including purchasing and ordering uniforms.

Buddies

Year 6 students are buddies for our Kindergarten students. They meet each other during the Transition program when the older students are in Year 5. This is one way we nurture and support our students at Marton P.S. Our newest school members have a friend who can guide them through the first few weeks and months at school. The Kindergarten children are mentored throughout their first year and are guided as they continue to develop sufficient confidence to function independently.
