
Sport
Marton Public School is involved with a variety of sporting activities.
All students participate in a weekly fitness program.
- Kindergarten, Years 1 and 2 participate in an hour sports activity session each week where gross motor skills are developed.
- Years 3-6 participate in class sporting and fitness programs throughout the week. They also have the opportunity to participate in PSSA Sport. For those not involved in a PSSA team sporting activities are organised at school.
- PSSA (Public Schools Sports Association) competitions involve school representation in the local Engadine District competition against other local schools. The PSSA competitions our school is involved with are:
- Summer Sports: Softball, Cricket, T-Ball
- Winter Sports: Netball, Soccer, Oztag, Hockey
- Our school has had teams participate in knock-out competitions in the following sports:
- Soccer
- Rugby League
- Waterpolo
- Softball
- Visiting sporting organisations attend the school for skills programs such as AFL Auskick
- Annual Swimming and Athletics Carnivals and Cross Country lead to student representation in Zone Regional, then State competitons.
